Tyrone Mings’ call-up to the England seniors by Gareth Southgate has got some Aston Villa fans extremely excited about the defender’s potential.
Mings, 26, signed from AFC Bournemouth this summer in a deal that could rise to £26.5m, and after just three Premier League games Southgate has decided that the centre-back is worthy of a place in the Three Lions squad for games against Kosovo and Bulgaria.
Despite a tricky start to life back in the top-flight, the West Midlands side have looked defensively solid with the partnership of Mings and Bjorn Engels at the heart of their backline, but a recent media release from Villa has got fans in a state of appreciation for their journey of their latest hero in B6.
Check out some of the best reactions to Mings’ interview whilst on England duty below.
“I can’t say that when I was sitting at my desk making cold calls that playing for England was an achievable goal. But everything has come together for me and all that has happened probably makes this all the sweeter.”
