“Plan B aka our Plan A” – A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans are annoyed at a report claiming that Mauricio Pochettino wanted to keep Fernando Llorente as his backup striker.
The club released the 34-year-old Spaniard but then offered him a new deal on reduced wages and Spurs never heard back from Llorente.
This apparently annoyed Pochettino because he wanted to keep Llorente and is now worried that Tottenham don’t have an alternative option from the bench.
Spurs do have young Troy Parrott in reserve, and there are a lot of Spurs fans who want to see him involved, but it seems that Pochettino wanted to have another first-team striker.
Llorente managed to score 13 goals in 66 games for Spurs – so it is easy to see why many Tottenham fans wanted rid of the Spaniard.
