Aston Villa blew yet another lead in north London as the West Midlands side lost 3-2 to Arsenal at The Emirates, adding to their 3-1 loss against Spurs despite being ahead, but some of the club’s fanbase have issued a rallying cry following comments from Dean Smith in a post-match interview.
Villa went one-nil up courtesy of a John McGinn goal, and despite Arsenal drawing level through a Nicolas Pepe penalty, Smith’s side were ahead yet again after Wesley converted following a dazzling run from Jack Grealish.
Despite being 2-1 up, Villa proceeded to succumb to the pressure that the 10 men of Arsenal conjured up, and conceded two late goals to leave themselves lingering in the relegation zone win one win in six Premier League games. Although the club are in a precarious position, these Villa fans are backing Smith to turn it around in B6.
Check out some of the best reactions to Smith’s post-match comments below.
“We’ll never get a better chance to come to the Emirates and get three points.”
