Tottenham Hotspur are not currently in negotiations with Everton for Brazil star Richarlison, despite the forward being admired by director of football Fabio Paratici.

That is according to Alasdair Gold of football.london, who was speaking on his YouTube channel about Spurs’ potential transfer business in this summer transfer window.

Antonio Conte has reportedly been offered six summer signings by the board this summer, in a bid to compete on both a Premier League and Champions League front next season.

And Gold believes that whilst Paratici would clearly have an interest in adding the Everton forward to the club’s ranks, there are no talks happening as of yet.

“People were saying, ‘advanced’ and ‘terms agreed’ and all this sort of stuff,” said Gold on his YouTube channel.

“And again, I had to come in and say look, from what I understand, Paratici really likes him. He’s another one of Paratici’s list of players he likes.

“However, from what I understand, nothing happening with that at this moment. I’m not saying that it isn’t something that Spurs look at later in the window, because there is interest there – I must stress, there is interest there.

“But yeah, maybe something for later in the window when they’re kind of looking at the priorities and options.

“He’s represented by CAA Base – massive agency, and there’s links there galore, so Spurs have got a really good relationship with CAA Base.”

Our thoughts on Gold’s comments

We believe that the £45m-rated man would be a fantastic addition for Spurs and Conte, should they pursue the deal further on down the line.

Former Toffees boss and current Champions League winning manager with Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti has previously praised Richarlison as being the “complete” player, which would suggest that the 36-time international would have no problems fitting in at Spurs.

The 6 foot beast also scored 11 goals in 33 appearances last season according to Transfermarkt, which is an impressive amount for a striker playing in an Everton side that secured Premier League survival by the skin of their teeth.

Not only does he know where the back of the net is, but he is also has a strong work and team ethic, having been in the top 1% of forwards in the top 5 European leagues for blocks in the 2021/22 season, and top 5% for tackles according to FBref, suggesting that he is willing to run the hard yards for his team.

An average SofaScore rating of 7.02 for his Premier League performances last season suggests that the 25-year-old is capable of performing to a high standard, even in a struggling team.

We think that Richarlison would be a brilliant signing for Conte, due to his impressive goal record and high-work ethic, which would suit the Italian manager’s play-style down to the ground.
