Arsenal are supposedly strapped for cash this summer following their failure to qualify for the Champions League. This has led to reports that the Gunners will have to sell players before any incomings occur. With the club being linked with Wilfried Zaha in a £80m move, it is clear that Arsenal will have to be smart in how they negotiate for the Ivorian.
One player that has been mentioned as a potential makeweight in the deal is versatile defender Calum Chambers, who has just returned from being Fulham’s player of the year. But should the Englishman not be a part of the Zaha deal, many Arsenal fans are undecided about the 24-year-olds value. Given that he is English, young, and can play in multiple positions a lot of Arsenal fans believe they can make a profit on the player, citing Tyrone Mings reported £25m move to Aston Villa as a benchmark for the price that can be expected.
With the north London club looking to strengthen their backline this summer with William Saliba of Saint Etienne and Kieran Tierney of Celtic, it could see Chambers leave Arsenal on a permanent basis. Arsenal paid £16m for Chambers back in 2014 signing him on a long-term deal from Southampton.
Here is the thoughts of the Arsenal faithful regarding the defender:
Looking at how inflated the market has become, we shouldn't sell Calum Chambers for anything less than £30m. We have always been victims of inflated prices, the time has come to become beneficiaries of it.

This is the sort of fee that shows if Arsenal do decide to sell Chambers this summer, they should be able to command a pretty hefty amount. https://t.co/yc2Ofq57sr

Completely agree, Liverpool and City wouldn’t let him go for anything less then 25 and neither should we. He’s young, homegrown and extremely versatile, if we get that sort of money for him then great, if not he could be very useful.

Inb4 he goes for 6.5 mil to bouremouth or west ham or someone and kills it

The market is indeed ridiculous – £20m+ for Tyrone Minds and £17m for Matt Targett! Still, I don’t think anyone will be offering £30m for Chambers anytime soon.

He was the best player at Fulham last season and he is English. If Maguire is 100mil, then he should be sold for 50mil.

I agree! We continue to sell cheap and get nowhere with our own rebuild. Cash is scarce for this club.

Arsenal don’t know how to sell or buy, we are clueless in the transfer market.

Perfectly agree with you. Beside the inflated market, Chambers is a young, homegrown and versatile too. These things matter in today’s market.
