One of Liverpool’s centre-backs could be about to depart the club with AC Milan hovering over Dejan Lovren – according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira. The rumour has left many supporters at Anfield hoping the Croatian leaves the club this summer.
Lovren has slipped down the pecking order at Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s preferred partnership of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip became his regular choice at the back. Klopp has also signed young star Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle over the summer transfer window and at only 17 years of age, it is thought he will be amongst the first-team setup.
Last season, the Croatian international only made 18 appearances in all competitions even despite the injury to England centre-back Joe Gomez. Milan’s interest may come as a shock after the club was booted out of next year’s Europa League over their breach of Financial Fair Play regulations.
The 29-year-old originally joined The Reds from Southampton back in 2013 for a fee around £20m and has gone on to make 170 appearances for the club. Lovren also played a key role in Croatia’s run to last summer’s World Cup final against France.

Could be a win for everyone
Lovren not one of our main CBs anymore, could go to another huge club and be their main man in a league where he's less likely to get bullied
Would leave the club on a good note top after the Champions League too https://t.co/0dzdbqc2Ay— R8 (@Nabyllionaire) July 1, 2019
Maldini in this one moment has shown he shouldn’t be anywhere near a decision making role at any club. Great player of course but he clearly has absolutely no eye for talent

I think we should even sell him for £17m tbh, he’s just not up to par with Gomez and Matip and I feel Van den Berg as 4th choice CB would be good.

Before his injury problems he was definitely in around their levels I’d say. For £20 mil we aren’t finding a better 4th choice so unless we’re in for De Ligt it’s better to not risk our entire season in case the Gomez/Matip get hurt

Can only pray this happens, cost us the league. Thank god he never had a chance to cost us the CL

Wouldnt be to bad to sell ings and lovren for 20m each, also get rid of a few smaller players and thats a 60 mill signing for free !

Lovren, mignolet and karius!! The sooner they are all gone the better for me

Yeah Lovren is the biggest liability we still have left in the squad now that Moreno has departed. The rest of the squad are all reliable. Well, maybe Mignolet is also in the Lovren liability department too.
