Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has penned a new deal at Liverpool.

The midfielder had agreed to a contract which will keep him at Anfield until 2023.

The Ox joined the Reds back in 2017 for a fee of around £40m. Unfortunately, he’s struggled with injuries over the past year, but he made his first appearance in over 12 months last weekend against Norwich.

The 26-year-old is clearly a very popular figure in the dressing room at the Merseyside club as a couple of his teammates were buzzing to hear that he was staying.

Club captain Jordan Henderson was quick to congratulate his teammate on extending his stay at Liverpool.

Left-back Andy Robertson was happy with his teammate staying at the club as he posted a message expressing how pleased he was with the news.

They have good reason to be pleased as well. Before his injury, he was looking like one of the best midfielders in the Liverpool squad, and if he can recapture that form he will be an important player this season.
