The Sun have reported that Burnley are holding out for £10m for English goalkeeper Tom Heaton. Heaton is in the last year of his contract at Turf Moor and Aston Villa have reportedly shown interest in the 33-year-old.

Heaton has seen his game time at Turf Moor restricted over the past two seasons due to the emergence of Nick Pope as well as injury problems. The England international would be part of a three-way battle for the number one spot in Sean Dyche’s side next season, battling Pope and Joe Hart for the starting berth.

Aston Villa have taken their spending over £100m this summer, and with Chief Executive Christian Purslow admitting more business will be done. Aston Villa already have three goalkeepers in Dean Smith’s squad, although according to The Sunday People 21/7; page 54, the club are open to offers of £3m for 29-year-old keeper Lovre Kalinic, meaning it could be a one-in-one-out at Villa Park.

A lot of Villa fans are not happy with the fee for the keeper, thinking that it is way too expensive for his age. Some Villa fans think Jack Butland is a more sensible signing as he could be the club’s keeper for the next decade.

Here is the best of the reaction.
