Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has shot down any suggestion that Arsenal could challenge for the title this season when speaking on TalkSPORT on Wednesday morning.
Despite their good start to the new campaign, the former England international said that the most they should be hoping for is a top-four finish.
“They’re a million miles away from Man City and Liverpool”????
“How many Arsenal players would get in the Liverpool team?”????
“If they got fourth place, I’d be happy.”????@RealRomfordPele says he’d be happy if Arsenal finished in the top four this season. pic.twitter.com/FfR4MuSP0G

Parlour was quite harsh in his view of the Gunners’ chances this term.
He stated that Arsenal are a million miles off being able to compete with Liverpool or Manchester City, and based off of last season’s results he’s got a point.
The London club finished a staggering 27 points behind the Reds and 28 behind the eventual champions.
They’ve strengthened in the transfer window with the additions of Nicolas Pepe, David Luiz and Kieren Tierney, but it’s a tough sell to argue that these players will earn them an extra 27 points this season.
The Romford Pele was very grounded in his analysis of Unai Emery’s side’s start to the season. He said that they’ve only won two games which they should be winning, and you can’t really argue with that.
To say that Arsenal are potential title contenders after beating two finished 13th and 15th last season is ludicrous, and it has to be said that Parlour might be right on this one.
