“Good lad” – A lot of Newcastle fans are thrilled with Matty Longstaff – after a solid display for Newcastle in their 2-1 defeat to Preston North End.
Newcastle may have lost, but there were positives to take from the game for the Toon, and the main one was the performance of Matty Longstaff – Sean’s younger brother.
The 19-year-old was calm and composed and was not afraid to get stuck in.
Steve Bruce had spoken before the game about how impressed he was by Matty Longstaff – and he showed great faith by putting him in from the start against Preston.
Matty was very grateful that his new manager gave him a chance – and now he must wait and see if he will be involved in the first-team squad this season.
For now, though, many Newcastle fans are just pleased with Matty Longstaff’s performance.

He was very VERY good when I saw him in Nanjing & Shanghai last week. No doubt he will be as good as, if not better than, his brother. All the best for this season Matty????????
