Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish was the victim of an assault by a Birmingham City fan in the second city derby last season, and some Villa fans have been responding to the confirmation of the club’s sanctions.
Paul Mitchell ran onto the pitch at St Andrew’s and struck Grealish during March’s Championship derby between the sides and was consequently jailed for 14 weeks.
A commission has warned the Blues regarding the future conduct of their supporters alongside dishing out a £42,500 fine, and some Villa fans have been having their say on the news.
Check out some of the best reactions to Birmingham’s fine below.
