Aston Villa are expected to begin trimming down their squad following this summer’s upheaval in which no more than ten new signings have walked through the door at Villa Park.

One player expected to be culled is Aaron Tshibola with the Daily Mail reporting the club have told the midfielder he can leave the club on a free transfer. He has spent the previous two seasons on loan at MK Dons and Kilmarnock.

The 24-year-old joined the club in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £5m following his impressive performances for Reading in the Championship. Tshibola has only gone on to play a total of ten matches in claret and blue, scoring once.

A number of fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the news with one claiming he forgot the player was still at the club, labelling him abysmal whilst another supporter said similar sentiments, questioning who he actually was.

Others believed it was about time, stating that Tshibola wasn’t even Sunday league standard. One member of the Villa faithful was willing to pay for his taxi fee from Villa Park to wherever he may end up – the Daily Mail believe there is interest from Darren Moore’s Doncaster Rovers in League One.

That Villa supporter best get his wallet ready… it’s a 92-mile trip!
