The former Almeria attacker is more than a flat-track bully. His goal rate, progressive carries, and crosses In the Champions League alone would put him in the top 10% of all forwards in Europe’s top five leagues.

His performances in Europe impressed former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, who praised the “lively” attacker and believes he will adapt well to English football.

“He looks brilliant.

“I had a good look at him over the two legs Benfica played against Liverpool and I was impressed.

“He is lively and seems a very good player. He has size, pace and occupies centre-halves. Defenders would have their hands full if he comes to the Premier League.”

Newcastle would be getting a very good striker in Nunez, and they should do everything they can to sign him.
