L’equipe are reporting that Algerian winger Said Benrahma wants to secure a move to newly-promoted Aston Villa. Villa have reportedly bid €16m for the Brentford forward.
The 23-year-old is coming off of the back of an excellent season for the Bees, that saw him score 10 goals and register 14 assists in 38 appearances. The former Nice winger missed the African Cup of Nations this summer through injury after limping off against Reading last season.
Benrahma would become the second player Dean Smith has signed from his old club Brentford, with Villa signing Ezri Konsa earlier in the summer. The Birmingham club have been linked with a move for Brentford’s 23-year-old hitman Neal Maupay in this manic window that has seen Villa spend over £100m.
While many Villa fans are happy that the club are preparing well for their maiden season back in the Premier League, some fans are worried that the club are not being smart with their money. One Villa fan thinks it will be hard to keep everyone happy if Benrahma signs, as there will be four wingers in Smith’s squad.
Here is the best of the reaction.

When Dean Smith said that we have drawn up a list of 5 players for every position I didn’t think that meant we were going to sign them all!!

Just seems like we’re over doing it now, I’ve been all for our recruitment, but thought the whole point of a cut price deal for Trezequet was to save some money on Benrahma?

How does financial fair play work because we are spending a ton of money this summer ????

Yeah granted but then that leaves you with Anwar, Jota, Trezequet and potentially Benrahma, that’s 4 quality wingers, you’re not going to be able to keep all of them happy. Just baffles me a bit this one mate
