Manchester United fans on Twitter have been reminiscing about a true club legend 17 years on from the signing of Rio Ferdinand from Leeds United.
The centre-back was signed back in 2002, and supporters celebrated the anniversary of his arrival by talking about him on social media.
The majority of fans shared fond memories of the former England captain as his tenure at the club was a very fruitful time for Manchester United as they won trophy after trophy.
Indeed, during his time at Old Trafford, Ferdinand lifted six Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League.
He would later go on to captain England and appear 81 times for the Three Lions.
Fans on social media heralded their former star and reminisced over the club’s glory years.
Since Ferdinand’s departure United have not won another league title.
