“There’s absolutely no evidence” – A lot of Newcastle fans are in disbelief at what Steve Bruce said in his talkSPORT interview.
The former Sunderland manager claimed that he could be the man to finally win Newcastle a trophy – the man who has never won a trophy in his career.
Newcastle lost their chance to win a major honour when they allowed Rafael Benitez to leave – a man who has won 12 trophies in his career.
The closest Bruce has come is when he got Hull City to an FA Cup final – so the fact that he thinks he will be the man to end Newcastle’s trophy drought is deluded.
His main aim will be to keep Newcastle up and with only one addition made so far, the remaining nine days of the transfer window will be crucial for the Toon – if they are to avoid another year of struggle.
For now, though, these Newcastle fans cannot believe what Bruce has said.
