According to reports, Giovani Lo Celso has been on Spurs’ radar all summer but Tottenham have been put off by the £70m asking price.
Speculation started after Christian Eriksen admitted to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet that he would like to “try something new“.
Since then, despite links to Real Madrid and Manchester United, Eriksen has stayed at Tottenham and it remains unclear if he will still be at the North London club going into the new season.
Lo Celso, who was on loan at Real Betis last season before they made the move permanent, highly impressed at the Spanish club with 16 goals and six assists last season.
More speculation has surfaced now that Real Betis has signed Nabil Fekir for a reported £17.7m from Lyon – Real Betis’ manager, had previously admitted he may have to sell players to buy players, Rubi told El Desmarque:
“We all want new faces soon but in the end, we also look for the economic benefit and it is not easy.”
“I know who does or does not have that intention. We are talking about a case in which the idea is very clear to leave. The rest is staying”
Lo Celso was left out of Real Betis’ pre-season tour which puts his future for Los Verdiblancos in doubt.
Spurs fans have been watching Lo Celso’s highlights from last season and are getting excited of him joining his Argentinian compatriot, Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.

I’ve watched Lo Celso since he was first bought by PSG. Whenever I watched him I thought he reminded me SO MUCH of Bernardo Silva and the role he plays for Man City. He’s probably a little less dynamic, but I think he’s a similar type of talent and their play styles are similar
