Record (via SportWitness) are reporting that Ruben Dias will be staying put at Benfica this summer unless his €66m (£57m) release clause is met.
Wolves are reportedly interested in the defender, who’s agent Jorge Mendes has a strong relationship with the owners at Molineux.
The signing would show that Wolves mean business next season, as they look to qualify for the Europa League group stage. It would also add to the already large Portuguese contingent already at the Black Country club.
The Portugal international has previously been the subject of interest from Manchester United, Real Madrid and Arsenal as they all look to reinforce their backline.
Wolves have yet to make any signings so far this summer, with their only business being to make Leander Dendoncker and Raul Jiminez’s loan moves permanent.
A lot of Wolves fans think the release clause is way too expensive, while some Wanderers fans think the club should go ahead and sign the player.
Here is the best of the reaction.

Wouldn’t be a risk for a player like him. He’s a proven player and is worth that much.
