Leeds United fans on Twitter are concerned after Phil Hay posted an update on Twitter saying that he doesn’t expect a new striker to arrive if Kemar Roofe stays at the club.
Prominent Leeds journalist Adam Pope said that he could move to Rangers a few weeks ago, but the trail seems to have gone cold on that front.
United could probably do with a new striker arriving this summer. Last season the Yorkshire outfit had the worst conversion rate in the entire division.
They also have a serious lack of depth up top as Patrick Bamford and Roofe are the only two senior strikers in the squad.
They both performed rather well last season scoring nine and 15 goals respectively, but both players were susceptible to injury at times last term
Understandably fans were worried by this transfer update, and they took to social media to share their concerns.
Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on Twitter…
In a nutshell nothing coming in! Ayling out for 3 months is that correct? Roberts 2 months?

Joke getting no new signings apart from Costa. Bielsa himself said Leeds players couldn’t repeat last seasons efforts again so what the hells going on? No chance of even playoffs at this rate

How have we even managed to convince Bielsa to stay? He said that squad wouldn’t be able to hit same heights again. We’ve added costa yet lost Jansson. Back four looks weak and front two struggled to convert the chances we created. Worrying

Is this what we call strengthening the squad.. bring in Costa, swap an experienced CB for a not as experienced one on loan and just hope for the best?! Genuine question. ????????♂️

So we’ve added Costa, sold Jansson. Now have 2 big 1st team injuries and a striker who is severely lacking in confidence. It isn’t looking good to start.

I just don’t quite understand this. How can this be the end of our business? How can we expect to improve by selling the best CB in the league and not replacing him? ???? and not addressing our poor conversion of chances in front of goal?

So we’re going in to a new season with only 2 strikers and expecting promotion with injurys it’s not enough
