Leeds United fans on Twitter have been discussing what type of reception they should give Pontus Jansson as he’s set to return to Elland Road on Wednesday when Leeds host Brentford.

This day was always going to come after the Swede joined the London club this summer, and now fans aren’t sure of how to react to his return.

Jansson was a huge fan favourite during his time at the Yorkshire club. ‘Pontus Jansson’s magic’ often rung around the stands at Elland Road, and he made the Championship Team of the Season on two occasions during his three seasons at the club.

Unfortunately, the time came where he had to leave Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

There have been conflicting reports around why Jansson joined Brentford this summer. Certain journalists have stated that he was seen as a problem in the dressing room, while the man himself claims that it was due to financial fair play issues.

A number of fans have urged their fellow supporters to not boo Jansson this weekend due to his years of good service at their club.

Others have taken another view. Stating that fans shouldn’t boo him as it could spur him on to play even better.

Inevitably, there were some fans who are going to give him stick upon his return to his former stomping ground.
