Leeds United fans on Twitter are struggling to agree after Phil Hay reported that the Yorkshire club are likely to go in for Ryan Kent if Kemar Roofe’s move to Anderlecht is finalised.

The striker has been heavily linked with Vincent Kompany’s side, and it seems as if Marcelo Bielsa already has his replacement lined up.

The winger has been a target for Leeds all summer long. They have already had a loan offer rejected, but they may soon have the funds required to bring him in on a permanent deal as Anderlecht could be about to pay £7m for Roofe.

Kent spent last term out on loan at Rangers where he was awarded Scotland’s PFA Young Player of the Year award, but despite the fact he had a successful time in Scotland some fans aren’t sold on this move.

The main worry is that the 22-year-old is a winger and not a striker. If Leeds fail to bring in another centre-forward, they would be left with Patrick Bamford as the only senior player who can play in that role.

Many fans protested this transfer stating that Leeds should instead be looking at a proven goalscorer.

Need a striker

Others had a differing view though. These supporters believe that fans should have faith in Marcelo Bielsa as he has rarely steered the Whites in the wrong direction since taking over at Elland Road.

A couple of other members of the fanbase had no concerns about this potential signing as they were full of praise for Kent.
