Leeds United fans on Twitter are divided in their opinions after Phil Hay reported that Tom Pearce could move to Barnsley before the transfer deadline.

This move had previously been speculated late last month, but with the transfer deadline looming, things seem to be picking up.

The young left-back seemingly isn’t a part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans at all. He was sent out on loan to Scunthorpe in January after making just two sub appearances from the bench for Leeds.

The 21-year-old is highly rated in some circles though. He was targeted by Everton last summer, and he has made eight appearances for England’s U20 team.

A few United fans took this news as an opportunity to take a shot at Andrea Radrizzani.

This has been a summer of sales for the Whites as no fewer than 12 players have left the club on permanent deals.

Big names such as Kemar Roofe and Pontus Jansson have departed, and Leeds fans are getting sick of selling players without the windfalls being reinvested.

With recent reports stating that Leeds wouldn’t be able to afford both Ryan Kent and Eddie Nketiah, fans are fed up of their owner not splashing the cash.

A couple of other supporters were worried about the trend of selling promising youngsters to Barnsley.

The Tykes have already signed Mallik Wilks and Aapo Halme from Leeds during this window.

One fan stated that they’re replacing Norwich as the Canaries went through a spell of signing Leeds’ best players earlier this decade.

However, there were differing views.

One supporter was quite happy to see Pearce headed out the door as he doesn’t rate him that highly.

A couple of other fans were glad to see some more deadwood shifted as Leeds’ latest financial accounts showed that they were running at a loss.
