Leeds United fans on Twitter have been reacting after Carlos Corbreron named an incredibly strong team for their U23 match against Millwall.

Shockingly the Whites named several first-teamers in their youth side. Helder Costa, Jack Clarke and Ezgjan Alioski all started, whilst Gaetano Berardi and Eddie Nketiah came off the bench at the start of the second half.

The big name in that side is Costa. The former Wolves man joined Leeds this summer on an initial loan deal which will become permanent next year for a fee of around £15m.

He’s yet to make his first start for the senior team, but on Monday he was thrust into the starting XI for Carlos Corbreron’s side.

A number of fans are still hoping that the Portuguese winger can have an impact for the first-team this season, and they were quite worried about the prospect of him picking up an injury in a game which isn’t of great importance.

Others were blown away by the quality in the U23 squad. A number of these players would be good enough to get into most Championship teams. One fan said that he would be happy with this lineup in the first team, while another said that it shouldn’t be legal to field such a strong side.

One fan wasn’t too impressed by the fact that Costa was starting for the U23s. He made a comparison to Izzy Brown who was on loan at the Whites last term, but he only made two appearances for the senior team. The supporter is hinting that he believes Costa will end up being a big name signing who won’t be a key player for the senior squad.
