Leeds United fans on Twitter have been reacting after the club announced that they would be allowing supporters to exchange any shirts which have been customised to have Kemar Roofe’s name and number on the back.
This is because the striker has now departed the Yorkshire club.
Indeed, Roofe joined Anderlecht on Tuesday evening in a deal thought to be worth around £7m.
Understandably, the attacker will have been a popular pick for fans who wanted a player’s name on the back of their shirt as he was the club’s top goalscorer last season.
Perhaps the supporters should have seen this one coming. The 26-year-old was down to the final year of his contract, and he was linked with a move to Rangers very early in the window.
Several members of the fanbase liked the gesture from the club as they have given something back to unfortunate fans who hadn’t predicted Roofe’s departure.
@andrearadri too nice for your own good! Anyone that criticises you hasn’t got a clue

As ever, many members of the fanbase took this as an opportunity to be pessimistic. They stated that the club shouldn’t continue selling their prized assets to avoid situations like this.
One fan claimed that the club would have to fork out a lot of money for new shirts if Kalvin Phillips left, while another moaned about the number of sales the Yorkshire club have made this summer.
So many players left they’ll do some refunds . If Phillips goes it’ll cost you a fortune ????????????????????

Decent touch, but not needed of you didn’t sell everyone!

I’d wait until the transfer window closes. You could end up doing a lot of swaps.

Hoes about stop selling our best assets and then you wouldn’t have to refund shirts. Shocking!
