Leeds United fans on Twitter have been heaping praise upon Mateusz Klich ahead of the beginning of the season.
One fan posted a tweet looking back at this time last year when the Pole was brought back into the fold by Marcelo Bielsa after falling out of favour under the previous regime.
The tribute to the midfielder seemed to have caught the attention of some fans as before long many were waxing lyrical about the talents he possesses.
It’s easy to see why these supporters were paying homage to the 29-year-old. The Poland international was the only player to start every game for the Yorkshire club last season, and he contributed to 19 goals along the way.
He had a red hot start last season, scoring three times in the Whites’ first five games as Leeds went unbeaten in their first eight league matches.
One fan called him the best central midfielder in the league, while another simply called him a brilliant player.
Here’s what the United fanbase have been saying on Twitter…
Mateusz Klich has to be one of, if not the most underrated player in the Championship.
Barely used by Christiansen, shipped out on loan to Holland by Heckingbottom. Who would’ve thought last year that he’d play every game for us, and be one of our best players.#LUFC #MOT #Leeds

A brilliant player. I remember Christiansen blaming him for a loss against Sheff Wed after he was only one on pitch trying to play football. A perfect Bielsa player and I’m very excited to see what he can do this year. And, he should 100% be on penalties.

fans forget that he’s yet to add in games like vs York & Guiseley but against Cagliari he was great. Makes the team tick and understands the system so well with the runs in behind he makes
