Leeds United fans are gutted after Kemar Roofe left the club to join Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht.
Last season’s top goalscorer was sold for a fee believed to be around £7m.
Roofe had become a fan favourite at Elland Road with his good performances and a number of dramatic late winners.
He scored 15 Championship goals last season and had it not been for him missing large portions of the campaign with injury he could have easily hit 20 or more.
The striker was entering the last year of his contract, and rather than risk him leaving for free next year Leeds have decided to cash in on the forward.
Unlike when Pontus Jansson left the club, there were no ill words said against the attacker.
Many lavished praise upon the striker and wished him luck, saying that they were gutted that he has chosen to continue his career elsewhere.
Good luck @roofe you got better and better and I’m sure without injuries you’d have got 20+ goals. Strange move by the club not securing a new deal and having to spend money to bring in a new striker to replace you, but you’ll have a good experience in Belgium. ????????????????????????

I am absolutely gutted you’ve left @roofe and I will follow your career. You’ll always be my favourite x

Great shame. Thought he would end up a legend. Thanks for you hard work @roofe and all the great moments. Knock em dead out there. Will be watching.

Roofe’s goalscoring exploits will certainly live long in the memory, but many fans paid tribute to the departing forward by thanking him for one particular moment.
The 26-year-old netted a late winner away at Aston Villa last season, and a number of fans will never forget that strike.
Roofe 95th minute winner against villa will forever be a bit of me, good luck chief!! Never a bad word to say about him

Although there was no ill will towards the departing star, many supporters had some choice words for Andrea Radrizzani.
The owner has now sanctioned the sales of two key players in Jansson and Roofe, and supporters are fed up.
I’m stressing now cause this is Leeds and I know what’s coming. @andrearadri are you Ken Bates in disguise? Sold our top goal scorer ✅sold our most promising youngster✅sold our best and cult hero defender✅ transfer deadline day, we tried but couldn’t get the deal over the _

Another owner selling all the assets to make money and will be gone by next season. Now he has recouped his losses he will sell at the end of the season. All our players are on loan we have made over 30 million in last few week , where the hell has that gone.
