Aston Villa have announced that young winger Andre Green is to join Championship side Preston North End on a season-long loan which has sparked the reaction of many at Villa Park.

A number of supporters seem to be rather pleased that the 21-year-old has been shipped out on loan even if that does currently leave the club with just three wingers going into the new Premier League campaign.

Green spent the first half of last season on loan with League One outfit Portsmouth as he didn’t appear to be in then-manager Steve Bruce’s plans.

He was recalled in January by current boss Dean Smith as the young prospect wasn’t getting enough game time on the South Coast. Green went on to make 21 Championship appearances as Villa won promotion back to the Premier League last term.

One member of the Villa Park crowd believes Green isn’t good enough, stating that Anwar El Ghazi is way more effective as the young winger lacks aggression, technique and basic crossing skills.

Another supporter agreed with this by claiming that he isn’t sure if Green is good enough for League One let alone the Championship.

Others hoped there was an option to buy and one fan even declared that the 21-year-old is done in an Aston Villa shirt with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Here’s the best of the reaction below:
