Despite leading his boyhood club to the promised land of the Premier League, Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is still waiting on a call-up to the England seniors and the decision to not call the 23-year-old up is dividing the opinions of some fans.
Grealish, 23, was in impressive form for Dean Smith’s side in the Championship last season, returning from injury to captain Villa for a club-record winning streak that saw them reach the play-off final and return fo the English top-flight after a three-year absence.
After declaring for England in 2015 and having risen through the international ranks with Ireland, Grealish is still yet to win a senior cap for Gareth Southgate’s side despite the likes of Mason Mount, with a similar complexion of professional experience, earning a spot in the senior squad.

Grealish has done more than Mount in the premier league, he’s carried the weight of Villas captaincy and performed really well. Why is Mount ‘fresher’? Makes no sense.

@fpldarkknight typical. This guy is saying Grealish shouldn’t be in the England squad because of lack of experience, but then promotes Mason Mount who has played only 270 minutes in his EPL career. The top 6 bias is sickening
