What an incredible career trajectory Harry Maguire has had. From a youngster at Sheffield United, to getting relegated with Hull City, to World Cup heroics all the way to becoming the most expensive defender in the world.

Like almost every footballer, his journey began playing at youth level. He was the star man for a Sheffield United side which made the 2011 FA Youth Cup final, and on Thursday he shared the lineups from that day on Instagram

Back in May 2011, Maguire faced his future club in the final of the FA Youth Cup.

The defender posted the lineup from the second-leg of that tie after the first-leg ended in a 2-2 draw. Despite having a future £80m centre-back amongst their ranks Sheffield United couldn’t stop the Red Devils that day as they were battered 4-1.

Goals for Manchester United came from Ravel Morrison and Will Keane who both netted two each.

Both of those players would go on to have underwhelming careers. Keane is at Ipswich while Morrison hasn’t played regular football for years, but he is currently under contract at Sheffield United.

There were some future stars lining up for the Red Devils that day. Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard are two names which immediately jump out at you, but Michael Keane is also an England international despite the fact he had to leave Old Trafford to get his big break.
