The David Turnbull transfer saga has come to an end for this window and it hasn’t gone down well with Celtic fans.
Turnbull will need surgery on a knee issue that was detected for the first time during his Celtic medical and after the club and Motherwell failed to agree on revised terms the deal is off the table and the 19-year-old will stay at his hometown club for the foreseeable future much to the dismay of Celtic fans.

You have to feel sorry for the teenager who has seen his life turned upside down in the last month: he was expecting to earn his big move to Celtic where he’d compete for trophies and play in European football only to be told that the deal would be off and that he’d miss the rest of the year with a serious knee injury. Turnbull has been offered a new deal by his club Motherwell that will include a buy-out clause of £3.25 million and will allow him to leave when he returns to full fitness but you can’t help feel for the 15 goal starlet.
These Celtic fans are annoyed the deal couldn’t go through at the final hurdle after what had been an intriguing saga that had seemingly lasted forever but are still hopeful Turnbull will make a full recovery and join them at Celtic Park.
1- We Celtic fans are gutted how this has ended at this juncture.
2 – Well done on Celtic spotting this knee issue and potentially saving the lads career irrespective of DT joining Celtic now or in the future.— Rashad Zalek (@5hoosh) June 30, 2019
Hopefully he comes back stronger. Good luck to the lad hope to see him back playing soon.
Right back at the start of this maybe Motherwell shouldn’t have told the world they accepted a bid off Celtic. Things should have been kept private until the deal was done.

I was angry when I read this. Celtic fans are right behind you and wish you the best for your op and rehab. Still hopefull to see you in the Hoops and wish we could have been ones supporting you right now. All the best David, and come back stronger!

Wide of the mark regarding him being a dot on the horizon for Celtic fans. I for one hope he gets through his surgery and rehab to be a stronger person, I also hope he still moves to Celtic because his talent is big and he has the potential to be a star player for us.

Good player. Really sorry this fell through and I hope, for his own sake, his physical health is secured. ????

No pun intended but for the record a lot of Celtic fans feel for the boy and wish him well in his recovery. Lots of people I know would love to see him sign for the club in the future. All the best David. HH

I hope everything goes well and we do sign the lad has a great future ahead if he can keep his feet on the ground . It would be hard at Celtic just now to get in that team but with the right attitude this boy is set for big things imo

Wish the lad a speedy recovery and a lengthy career.
