Aston Villa are set to compete in England’s top-flight for the first time in three years so it is only right that the fans get a fabulous kit to accompany their recent achievements. However, the latest ideas for their new kits have been leaked on social media – sparking feelings of both admiration and disgust amongst the fanbase.
Villa dumped former kit manufacturers Under Armour last year for a relatively unknown company in Luke 1977 but announced in May that Kappa would become their new principal partner and kit supplier for the next three seasons. Kappa are a widely-regarded Italian sportswear brand and supply kit for a number of Serie A sides as well as the Italy national team.
Dean Smith guided The Villans to a playoff victory over Derby County ensuring their return to the Premier League and the Villa boss has already made five new signings to bolster their chances of avoiding relegation next term.
A number of supporters have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the rumoured 2019/2020 kits with generally no overriding opinion – the home shirt displays the famous claret and blue colours which you’d expect. The away shirt leads with a sky blue split down the middle whist the third choice alternate kit features a bold green and black pattern.
You can read the contrasting thoughts of the Villa Park faithful below:
Oh look, it’s claret and blue. ????♂️ Really don’t understand the fascination with kits. Pick one, then keep it for 10 years. Then I might buy it. Why keep changing it? It’s a complete waste of time money and resources. Everyone loved the 18/19 kit. Why not keep it? #avfc
