A Celtic XI smashed St. Gallen’s U21s 9-1 before their two full sides meet tonight and Leigh Griffiths continued his goal-scoring form since returning for pre-season.

Griffiths banged in four goals during a behind closed doors friendly in the emphatic win and the Celtic fans were delighted to see one of their favourites on the scoresheet once again during the Austrian training camp. The 28-year-old was joined on the scoresheet by wingers Lewis Morgan and Scott Sinclair as well as prodigious youngsters Ewan Henderson and Karamoko Dembele.

Griffiths had taken time off from Celtic last season to address issues with his mental health but the poacher looks back to his best if his pre-season form is anything to go by. Griffiths has already been on target for the Celts this summer- scoring against Wiener Sport-Club- as he looks to regain his place as Celtic’s first choice striker having faced strong competition from Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele in the past three years. Having played this morning it’s unlikely that the former Hibs striker will have too much of an impact in tonight’s game against St. Gallen’s first team.

These Celtic fans are delighted one of their heroes is back in the goals after a worrying period out of the game.
