According to Italian football expert Conor Clancy, Tottenham Hotspur target Gleison Bremer will “obviously leave Torino this year.”

The Lowdown: Spurs looking at centre-backs

It’s been no secret that Antonio Conte desires a new centre-back at Spurs, with the club looking to hand him six new signings for next season, according to The Telegraph.

Calciomercato.it reports that a host of top clubs are interested in the services of Bremer, who is a £31.5m-rated centre-back, and the Lilywhites are believed to be one of these sides.

The Latest: Available for £21m

According to Alasdair Gold of football.london, the 25-year-old defender could be available for as little as £21m, which you would imagine Clancy would agree to be a bargain.

“He’s an incredible defender, and he’ll obviously leave Torino this year,” Clancy told GIVEMESPORT.

“In Italy, he has been linked with Inter; he’s been linked with everyone. And there’s a reason for that; it’s because he’s brilliant.”

The Verdict: Get him in

Bremer would represent a superb bit of business for Spurs if they could acquire the Brazilian for just £21m.

He has been described as a “monster” by sports journalist Maxi Angelo, in reference to his Serie A performance this season.

The 25-year-old is in the top 1% of centre-backs in Europe’s top five leagues per 90 minutes for blocks and aerial duels won, whilst he ranks in the top 2% for interceptions and the top 4% for clearances, according to FBref.

He has made 51 tackles, 86 blocks and a staggering 117 interceptions in Serie A this season, according to the same stats provider, suggesting that Spurs could have a colossus of a defender on their hands for such a cheap price, should they choose to invest that money on him.

He is also a competent passer of the ball according to FBref, completing 1,194 of 1,403 attempted passes this season, at a success rate of 85.1%.

The 6 foot 1 titan has earned himself an impressive SofaScore rating of 7.13 for his performances in Serie A this season, showing that he has been an impressive performer on a consistent basis for Torino this season.

On the basis of his stats and performances this campaign, there is no reason why Spurs shouldn’t be going all out to secure the services of the Brazilian centre-back, with £21m looking to be a steal for whoever secures his services.
