Nottingham Forest fans on Twitter have been reacting to reports that they are about to sign Spanish centre-back Chema Rodriguez.
The centre-half has also been chased by Fulham during this transfer window, but it looks like the Reds have won the race for his signature.
The Levante man is a left-footer, and his WhoScored stats suggest that he may not be the best of signings.
For a start his pass success rate last season was just 73.9 per cent, and he picked up seven yellow cards last term in just 13 starts.
His defensive output doesn’t look too bad though. His tackle success rate stands at around 82% as he completed 27 out of 33 attempted challenges.
It remains to be seen how the Spaniard will get on at the City Ground, but that hasn’t stopped a couple of supporters getting excited about the prospect of bringing him in.
Rodriguez looks like he could be a very good signing.

Been to watch Levante a few times and I’ve always rated him. Reckon it could be one of our best signings

Other supporters had the opposite reaction though. There are certainly concerns around the fanbase due to the size of Forest’s squad. The reds currently have 38 senior players listed on their website, and the arrivals of Rodriguez and John Bostock will see that number rise to 40.
They also have six centre-backs already, so a number of supporters see this as a bit of an unnecessary signing.
Don’t get why we need another centre half..forest transfer planning is a shambles..5 keepers 7centre half and still only 2strikers..no doubt if we do sign a striker his record will be 10 goals in 100 games..

The signing of Chema makes the CB position even more bemusing than the GK one. 7 into 2 doesn’t fit. Chema would more than likely be the mainstay for the LCB role so 5 others fighting for one spot (not including Hef) #nffc
