Nottingham Forest fans on Twitter have been reacting to John Bostock’s debut on Tuesday night.
The midfielder was named in Sabri Lamouchi’s starting XI for the Reds’ Carabao Cup first-round clash with Fleetwood Town.
The Reds came away with a 1-0 win, but despite Bostock assisting the only goal of the game he faced criticism from some members of the fanbase.
The midfielder was signed from French outfit Toulouse on deadline day, and his first performance in a Forest shirt received mixed reviews.
One key complaint from a number of Forest fans was that his shooting was poor, but a couple of other supporters poked holes in other areas of his game.
One fan said that he was sloppy in possession and too liable to giving the ball away, while another asked if he was Ben Watson in disguise.
That bostock was really poor, except the assist did nowt and was really sloppy in possession, gave the ball away loads

I’m not sure about Bostock. Is he Watson in disguise? #nffc

In response to some of the criticism, many supporters believe that their fellow fans should give him a chance before judging him as it was the first time he’d ever played for his new club.
Give the guy a break,he’s only been in Nottingham 5 minutes

Others actually think that he played well on his debut, and they believe all of the criticism he has been receiving is unwarranted.

One of better players on pitch for us for first 70 minutes. Did get tired booked for no fault of his own. Think he will be good in the team with passing and of cause exquisite chip for silvas goal.
