Rangers signed Scott Arfield last year on a free after his contract at Burnley expired – and he turned out to be one of the signings of the summer.
The 30-year-old scored an impressive ten goals and provided seven assists – as Steven Gerrard’s side finished second in the SPFL.
Arfield, who is a Canadian international, embraced both Rangers and their fans – and quickly became a fan-favourite.
He may not be captain, but his hard-no-nonsense style of play – and strong words made him a leader on the pitch.
He was vital last year – and he also will be this season – as Rangers look to usurp Celtic in the race for the title.
Arfield has already started the season well with one goal and one assist in all competitions – and the former Burnley man looks ready to lead a title-charge.
A lot of Rangers fans love Arfield – and you can expect him to put in some outstanding midfield performances throughout the season.
There were links to the Premier League earlier in the summer – with his form supposedly catching the eye of Crystal Palace and others, but Arfield appears settled at Ibrox.
He is arguably playing the best football of his career – and has also found a club that appreciates him and his qualities.
It seems like the 30-year-old will play a massive role, once again, for Rangers this year.
