Sky Sports has revealed that Porto manager Sergio Conceicao is interested in the Newcastle United job following the departure of Rafa Benitez, which has caused a number of fans at St James’ Park to show their discontent at the whole situation even more.
Conceicao would be a surprise candidate for the job considering he is currently in charge at Porto where he guided the team to the 2017/18 title – which ended a run of nearly five years without silverware. His side also regularly compete in the Champions League year-on-year which raises further question marks to why he would depart Portugal for a spell at troubled Newcastle.
It was announced last week that the popular Benitez would leave Tyneside after three years having failed to agree terms to a new contract. The Magpies won the Championship under the lovable Spaniard and had began to consolidate them in the Premier League as well as returning a much-needed affinity between the club and the fanbase.
Though, that relationship has now been destroyed leaving the next Newcastle manager with an almighty task to win over the fans, which has been echoed on social media as a number of managers throw their name into the hat for the role.

It’s not Rafa therefore don’t care

Couldn’t care less. Ashley out

Nothing will change while Ashley is at the club. I wouldn’t be surprised if he appointed Joe Kinnear again

Does he know who Mike Ashley is? And who he’ll be dealing with? #ASHLEYOUT

Could not care less. Unless we get Guardiola or Klopp there will be discontent at St James’ next season.

Not interested, unless we get sold and Rafa comes back

He’s the real deal. I’d have him 100%. Check this great piece from https://t.co/FFtqBYA7Xp https://t.co/cqSSBp6Vl0
The central winger part interests me, Miggy and Ayoze could fill those roles well. I’m interested in seeing where this goes! #NUFC
