When it was announced that Spanish manager Rafael Benitez would be leaving St James’ Park at the end of his contract, many Newcastle fans couldn’t believe what they were reading.
In a questionable move by owner Mike Ashley, the manager was allowed to leave the club having steered Newcastle away from relegation over the past 2 seasons.
Since the news broke The Chronicle have been profiling potential managers to succeed Benitez at the Toon, with their latest profile being focused on Burnley boss Sean Dyche. The profile was met with some backlash from many Newcastle fans still aggrieved about the decision to let Benitez go, with their anger directed towards one man.
He took Burnley from the Championship to the Europa League… and made a tidy profit in the process ????
Could Sean Dyche be the man to take #NUFC forward? pic.twitter.com/cc77i0kb72

Pep Guardiola couldn’t take NUFC forward as long as Ashley is owner when will people realise that?

“Take #nufc forward”
Dyche wants to buy nufc? Otherwise he cant do anything in this club

No he can’t take the club forward because no one can while the peddler of sports tat remains in charge. 17th place will do nicely to keep on the gravy train. No need to move forward. #AshleyOut

Divent be daft man

Focusing on Dyche, he guided Burnley from the Championship all the way to Europa League qualifying while on a shoestring budget. Dyche’s achievements still do not impress a lot of Newcastle United fans, who think the job is a poisoned chalice.
Barely scraped past Aberdeen in the Europa League.

Under Mike Ashley? I don’t care

Ashley has never appointed a manager who was already at another club, he won’t pay the compensation. Any manager who is currently working will be a total no go. The next manager will be a current out of work yes man, don’t think, expect or dream anything else

Can we take a second to be abruptly honest, any manager that takes this job on would be either insane or after a payday. And that’s the truth of all things sadly. #nufc
