Arsenal announced the sale of Colombian international goalkeeper David Ospina to Napoli for a fee of £3.5M after the shot stopper spent last season on loan at the Italian club. The fee seems incredibly undervalued in the current market for a goalkeeper with the experience Ospina has. An example of a similar move saw Netherlands goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen joining Valencia for €35m earlier this summer.
The news of the goalkeeper’s departure incensed many Arsenal fans, who believe the sale showcases the naivety of the hierarchy at Arsenal. Ospina made 17 appearances for Napoli in Serie A last season. The keeper is also the most capped goalkeeper in Colombian history with 98 caps.

IMAGINE SELLING AN INTERNATIONAL GOALKEEPER FOR 3M. Disgraceful

Should’ve been way more than 3m

Championship keepers go for more

£4m for Colombia’s number 1, with years of experience in Europe and at least five years left at the top. Shocking, should be going for £15m minimum.

Decent keeper that we are letting go for peanuts. Our transfer policy in relation to selling players is shocking!
