Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react to Everton legend Tim Cahill’s comments after the Blues fought hard to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Cahill, who played his football at Goodison Park for eight seasons, was really pleased with what he saw from his former club as the Toffees look to break into the ‘top six’ and to end their trophy drought.
The Australian all-time top goalscorer highlighted three players in his own post match analysis that stood out in his eyes as the stars of the show. The Blues dug deep to defeat a stubborn Wolves side, who played in a Europa League qualifier just three days before.
Here’s what the former Everton No.7 had to say:
Great team selection today by Marco Silva today. Thought Fabian Delph was outstanding, brought some real grit and leadership to the team. @richarlison97 goals fantastic along with @alexiwobi ⚽️⚽️⚽️ @Everton Great day for the Blues.

The three players in relation to Cahill’s tweet, two of them are new signings at the club and are part of Marco Silva new tactical system which he continues to be implemented during the foundations of the new campaign, and will look to evolve them as the season progresses.

Delph was the best player on the pitch, kept everything simple and won the ball back frequently. Kept it ticking over going forward. Hope we can keep him fit with Gbamin out for a while.
