Everton’s inconsistent start to the 2019/20 campaign got back on track on Tuesday night, as the club ran out 2-0 victors over Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
The Toffees had started their Premier League season in impressive form, but defeats to AFC Bournemouth and Sheffield United had unstuck the promising progress that Marco Silva’s side had made in the early stages of their league campaign.
Silva’s side progressed to the last 16 of the Carabao Cup courtesy of a brace from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and the performance of the 22-year-old striker has got some fans simply loving his impact in an important game for the club.
