West Brom’s newest arrival, Romaine Sawyers, knows the club all too well having graduated from the club’s academy before leaving the club in a quest for first-team opportunity. Now he’s back and his first club interview has left many at the Hawthorns in awe. It appears he is already becoming a fan favourite.
The 27-year-old left West Brom permanently in 2013, joining Walsall where he would go on to make 161 appearances before earning a move to Championship outfit Brentford.
Last season he was an influential member of Thomas Frank’s squad making 46 appearances whilst providing seven assists as well as becoming the regular choice of captain.
A number of the Baggies fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the midfielder’s interview with one supporter claiming his move is the best thing to happen to the club this summer and also seeing him as the future club captain.
Others called him a well-grounded and level-headed young man, stating that you could see how much the club means to him. One supporter said the interview even gave him goosebumps whilst another fan said he’s already his favourite player.

As he said… he left a boy and has returned a man.
We know he is going to give 110% every game.
Can’t wait to see him rip this league apart.

Intelligent, realistic & genuine guy. I’m really pleased he’s back. A couple of new strikers in front of him and we’re looking strong.
