David Anderson, of the Daily Mirror, has reported that any interest in Brentford midfielder Romaine Sawyers from Leeds United is wide of the mark.
The St Kitts and Nevis international has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs this summer, including West Brom and Celtic.
The 27-year-old is coming off of the back of the most productive season of his career with seven assists in 42 appearances for The Bees.
Capable of playing a variety of roles either central or on the wing, Sawyers is a versatile midfielder who is excellent at recycling possession, with an 86% success rate in his passing last season.
Many Leeds fans are not happy with the reports being wide of the mark, as they feel the club needs signings. Some Leeds fans agree that the club need signings but not in central midfield, rather in other areas.
A few Whites fans couldn’t help but laugh at the rumours as they think Leeds won’t be making any more signings.
Here is the best of the reaction.
I understand reports linking Leeds with Brentford midfielder Romaine Sawyers are wide of the mark. #lufc

We would rather sell players. And then invest in loan players then come end of the season say, what’s happened to all our players where they gone. JESUS CHRIST .

we have a surplus of midfielders so it’s quite conceivable that we are after sawyers and not defenders or forwards which we are clearly short of. Leeds transfer policy is baffling and anyone buying into the FFP theory needs their head looking at
