Liverpool fans have taken to social media to slam ex-Liverpool youngster Bobby Duncan after sharing his relief after claiming “someone finally understands“.
The 18-year-old left Merseyside for Serie A and Fiorentina on Tuesday in what was rumoured to be a £1.8m deal, but departed in very controversial circumstances.
Duncan’s agent made some bold claims on social media regarding the attacking midfielder’s mental health and that he hadn’t been able to leave his room for four days, only to make a move to Italy just a week later.

The video shows a discussion between Andy Townsend and Tim Sherwood on Sky Sports show, The Debate.
Sherwood said, “There’s been a trend for young English players who believe they’re not going to get an opportunity at their clubs where they come through the academy. It’s difficult when you’re a striker trying to come in front of [Mo] Salah and [Sadio] Mane.
“Bobby feels like it’s the right time for him to leave, he’s got quality and he needs to go and play.”
Townsend added, “I applaud anyone that feels like they’ve got a burning desire to go and play, can’t get a foot in where he is, and he’s prepared to go that far. That’s a good club and it’s going to be a fantastic learning experience for him.”
Saif Rubie, the 18-year-old’s agent, has since deactivated his Twitter account after receiving lots of criticism from Liverpool supporters regarding the tweet.
Despite the comments from Sherwood and Townsend, Liverpool fans did not show the same level of sympathy, here are some of the best responses:
You went from Man City to Liverpool. What exactly were you expecting? pic.twitter.com/zPS1Sx5zV8

So you decided to leave Liverpool due to a lack of first team chances and due to not thinking you’d break into the first team?
Fair enough, but why did you sign only a year ago then when the situation was exactly the same and Salah/Mane/Firmino/Origi/Brewster were all here?

you’ve literally got the best attack in the world to learn off of and you’re still complaining???

Crack on then and stop talking so much. You tried to use mental health as a way to attack the club you apparently ”love” and left in a bad way as a result of that mess of a statement, whether it was advised by your agent or not he’s a representation of you.

Using “mental health” as an excuse by your agent was the lowest of the low.

Nobody said a move away from Liverpool wouldn’t benefit you

The desire to play fair enough, the manner in which you did it. Disrespecting Klopp and the staff. Your agent made a fool of you. The guy shouldnt have been an agent in the first place
