Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has only made one summer signing so far this off-season but that hasn’t stopped some Liverpool supporters from gaining serious excitement ahead of the new Premier League campaign – as they look to go one better and beat Manchester City to the title this time around.

Sepp van den Berg is the new centre-back around town having joined from PEC Zwolle for a fee of just £1.3m. He’s only 17-years-old but it is expected that he will play some part amongst the first-team with pre-season the ideal scenario to test exactly that.

His appearance on the club’s Twitter feed over the weekend has left some fans expressing their delight at the young star – suggesting he’s already better than their current backup, Dejan Lovren. Van den Berg only met his new teammates for the first time on Saturday and said: “I feel great. I already feel really at home here and that’s a big thing for me. I am just looking forward; I am going to train hard and hopefully I will play some minutes here.”

Van den Berg made 16 appearances in Holland’s top-flight last season and was named on the bench 14 times without featuring. The starlet has also picked up six international caps for Holland’s under-19 side after making his debut in September 2018.
