It’s that time of the week again where some of the top pundits in the game reflect on last week’s Premier League action.

We saw another breathtaking weekend of top-flight action with a number of incredible moments in just the second weekend of the campaign. VAR cost Man City two points, Teemu Pukki proved he can hang with the big boys by netting a hat-trick, and after Man United’s draw with Wolves, Everton remain the only team in the division yet to concede a goal.

Alan Shearer posted his Team of the Week on Instagram, and there were some incredible performances to look back on from this weekend.

My @premierleague team of the week. Agree?!????????

Perhaps the most impressive player from this past week was Dani Ceballos. He looked like a seasoned veteran in his very first game for Arsenal. He got two assists on his debut and has a pass success rate of 90 per cent. Understandably he has been selected for this team.

Sadio Mane did something he’s never done before on Saturday as he scored against his former club Southampton for the first time since departing St Mary’s in 2016. His goal was a cracker as well – a powerful curling effort from the edge of the area.

VAR may have stopped Man City in their tracks this weekend, but it didn’t stop Kevin De Bruyne from showing exactly what he is capable of. The Belgian makes Shearer’s team after two brilliant assists against Tottenham over the weekend.
