“Good luck to the lad” – A lot of Stoke City fans are sad to see Erik Pieters depart the club to join Burnley – ending his six-year spell for the club.
Stoke City have sold Pieters to Burnley for an undisclosed fee, and the left-back has signed a two-year deal with his new club.
The 30-year-old was brought to the Potters by Mark Hughes in 2013, and he went on to make 206 appearances for the club – scoring three goals and providing 11 assists.
He stayed after relegation in 2018 but could not help Stoke bounce back instantly, and he has decided to return to the Premier League by moving to Turf Moor.
Pieters was a key part of the Stoke sides that finished in the top ten on a few occasions between 2013-16, and he leaves with nothing but good wishes from a lot of Stoke fans.
