It may well be early days in the Premier League, but Tottenham Hotspur are struggling – they have only beaten Aston Villa and have also lost to Newcastle United.

They have, however, drew with Manchester City and Arsenal but they have one man to thank for those two points – their captain Hugo Lloris.

The Frenchman is a world-class shot-stopper, and he has proven that so far this season.

Tottenham’s defence has looked all over the place in every game, and it is the performances of the 32-year-old that have saved them on numerous occasions.

Against City, Lloris made nine saves including two brilliant ones to deny Oleksandr Zinchenko and Rodri.

He was comfortably Spurs’ Man of the Match against the Champions.

In the Newcastle game, even though, he conceded he did pull off a superb stop to deny Sean Longstaff.

However, his best display of the season was saved for the North London derby – as Lloris pulled out all the stops to ensure his team left the Emirates with a point.

In the first half, the Frenchman was relatively quiet as he only had to deal with a Nicholas Pepe strike.

The second half though was very different as Lloris had to make excellent saves to deny Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka, but his best save was from a Matteo Guendouzi strike that looked to be nestling in the corner of the net, but Lloris got down quickly and clawed the ball away.

Lloris has had a brilliant career at Tottenham; however, this season he looks to be playing his best football for a long time.
